Tilaurakot is widely believed to be the ancient capital of the Shakya kingdom, where Prince Siddhartha spent his early years before renouncing his princely life. The site includes the remnants of the ancient city’s walls, gates, and various structures. Excavations have revealed significant artifacts, including pottery and coins, that offer insights into the lifestyle and culture of that era. Walking through the ruins of Tilaurakot, one can almost feel the presence of history and the beginnings of Lord Buddha's journey.
